What is Wild Mood Swings? It's a simple game: you select a mood from the pull-down list, click on 'take me away' and it'll whisk you away to an appropriate site. Each time you reload the page or click the shuffle moods link, the moods are sorted into a different order.
Some of the links will take you to sites that require the Flash plug-in or Shockwave plug-in. Most internet users won't experience any problems using the sites linked to here.
If it's not working, it's possible you have a pop-up blocker installed that is stopping Wild Mood Swings from opening your destination site in a new window. In that case, try disabling your pop-up blocker. Google Toolbar will let you block unrequested advertising pop-ups, without blocking content windows such as those used by Wild Mood Swings.
Who's behind it?
Sean McManus, a UK business and technology writer. I am the author of iPad for the Older and Wiser, Web Design in Easy Steps, Microsoft Office for the Older and Wiser, Social Networking for the Older and Wiser, music industry satire University of Death, and Small Business Websites That Work. I am also co-author of The Customer Service Pocketbook.
Why was it developed?Well, I think it's a cool idea and you've got to make time for cool ideas once in a while.
When was it launched? The original version was hosted at the first version of my personal site in 1998. This redesign and revamp launched Friday 14 February 2003. New moods are regularly added in.
Can I suggest my site?Sorry, no - I tried accepting suggestions for a while but they were nearly all from webmasters trying to plug their own sites. Nearly all were unsuitable. It wasn't a good use of my time.
